Twitter and Square CEO says he will be spending a minimum of three months in Africa next year stating that the continent will “define the future.”
Sad to be leaving the continent…for now. Africa will define the future (especially the bitcoin one!). Not sure where yet, but I’ll be living here for 3-6 months mid 2020. Grateful I was able to experience a small part. 🌍 pic.twitter.com/9VqgbhCXWd

The 43 year old tech exec ended a month long tour of the continent in Ethiopia on Wednesday after visits to Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa.
In related a event, Alibaba’s CEO Jack Ma was also in Ethiopia this week, signing an agreement to establish a new trade platform.
Nigeria’s former minister of finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela was among the first to react to Jack Dorsey’s tweet.
@Jack so glad you could make this journey and see what wonderful talented people we have as treasures on this continent. Waiting for you 3-6 months to learn more.
It is unclear what Jack will be doing in Africa next year or what his visit would mean for tech advancement in a continent that has often played afterthought for the big tech players but it is definitely one notion that power movers on the continent seem to favour.
